What’s the best Christmas present you’ve ever received? Maybe it was the toy you’d been wanting all year, or a special trip with your family, or tickets to something really cool!

Here’s a fun fact: Some of the coolest presents actually take A LOT of work to give! One actress received a sloth as a gift (yes, a real live sloth!). Do you know how hard it is to give someone a sloth? You have to get special permission, fill out tons of paperwork, and even get insurance for a wild animal! That’s a lot of work just to give a gift!

But here’s the most amazing thing: Even the hardest gift to give in the world doesn’t compare to the gift God gave us. God gave us His Son, Jesus! The Bible calls it an “indescribable gift”—that means it’s so amazing, you can’t even find good enough words to describe it!

Think about what it took for God to give us Jesus: Jesus left the perfection of heaven to be born as a human baby. He lived a perfect life even though He was tempted. Then He died on a cross to pay for OUR sins, even though He never sinned. And He did it all because He loves us! That’s the greatest gift ever!

Take Action: Make a “Thank You” card for God! On the front, write “Thank You for the Best Gift Ever!” Inside, write or draw why you’re thankful for Jesus. Maybe you’re thankful that He died for your sins, or that He’s always with you, or that He’s preparing heaven for you. Then “deliver” your card by reading it out loud to God in prayer. Remember, Christmas is really about celebrating the gift God gave to YOU!
